  • Tips for Storing Caviar to Preserve Freshness

Most caviars remain fresh for four to six weeks. For optimal storage, keep it just above freezing, ideally between 28 and 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid full freezing.

  • How Long Does Caviar Stay Fresh?

Number One Caviar is packed fresh for each order, and for the best flavor and quality, it's recommended to enjoy it within 3 days of receiving it.

Unopened tins of caviar can be stored in the refrigerator for 4 to 6 weeks, while non-sturgeon caviar such as Salmon Roe or Trout can last about 2 weeks refrigerated or up to a year when frozen.

After opening, caviar stays fresh for about 5 to 7 days.

  • The Ice Packs Melted, Is My Caviar Spoiled?

We include enough ice packs with all our refrigerated and frozen products to maintain their cool temperature during shipping. The gel packs are designed to melt by the time your package arrives, making your caviar ready for refrigeration right away. As long as the product stays partially cool, it remains safe to consume.
